Manicurist Course: 600-Hour Curriculum

The Manicurist Course is an in-depth 600-hour program designed to teach students everything they need to know about nail care, including manicures, pedicures, acrylics, gel nails, and nail art techniques. Students will receive both theoretical knowledge and hands-on training in professional nail services.

The course is governed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to ensure students receive a high-quality education. Graduates will be fully prepared to pass the state board exams and obtain their Texas manicurist license.

Examinations

To become a licensed manicurist in Texas, students must pass both a written and a practical exam.

Written Exam

After completing 540 of the 600 required hours, the school will notify TDLR of your eligibility for the written exam. PSI will provide scheduling instructions via email.

Practical Exam

Once all 600 required hours are completed, students will be eligible to take the practical exam.
