Barbering Course: 1000-Hour Curriculum
The Barbering Course is a comprehensive 1000-hour program designed to provide students with the skills, techniques, and industry knowledge needed to become professional barbers. This hands-on training program ensures that graduates are fully prepared to enter the workforce with confidence. Our curriculum emphasizes precision cutting, shaving, beard grooming, and styling, along with the latest trends in men’s grooming.
This course is regulated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to ensure the highest standards of barber education. Graduates will be fully prepared to pass both the written and practical state examinations required to obtain their Texas barber license.
Examinations
To earn a Texas barber license, students must pass both a written exam and a practical exam.
Written Exam
Upon completing 900 of the 1,000 required hours, the school will notify TDLR of your eligibility to take the written exam. Once TDLR verifies eligibility, you will receive an email from PSI (the third-party testing vendor) with instructions on how to schedule your written exam.
Practical Exam
After successfully completing all 1,000 required hours, you will be notified of your eligibility to take the practical exam.
